About My Work and Contact Information

As an artist, the ability to form a statement in clay is synchronized with my wish to convey a message.  Creation is guided by technical skill and informed intuition.

Stoneware or porcelain is formed by wheel and practiced hand, often altered by carving, impressing or attaching at various stages as the clay dries.

Hours are spent testing chemical formulations to understand the effects of metal oxide colorations in glassy substrates that will properly adhere to the clay body.

To achieve the desired result, it is critical to understand and control atmospheric conditions in the kiln, whether the firing is raku, wood, soda or gas reduction.  It is also necessary to honor serendipity, for the fire is my partner in creation.

Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in a particular artwork, or have an idea for a special commissioned piece. I would love to hear from you.
